DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Nurse Aide, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for administering care in the areas of skilled care, personal care, outpatient, and general population.
Some daily responsibilities of the position include completing basic nursing skills and nursing procedures to maintain optimum inmate health and providing quality care such as obtaining vitals signs, weights, and other measurements as directed by the Registered Nurse; completing documentation as required; collecting specimens as directed by the Registered Nurse for urine, feces, and sputum; and assisting inmates with daily living activities and hygiene to ensure basic physical care needs are met.
You will also participate in Life Skills programming by following nursing care plan orders, providing care and interventions consistent with inmate’s needs, and documenting on assigned aspects of the nursing care plan.
Other key duties of the position include participating in emergency situations by performing emergency procedures such as CPR and obstructed airway.
In addition, you will participate in emergency response drills.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (40-hour work week) Work hours are 3rd shift (10:30 PM to 7:00 PM), every other weekend and holiday off, with 30-minute lunch.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Additional Requirement: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement: You must pass a background investigation.
