Position Description Summary The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Digital Forensics in the College of Science and Technology at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for 3 full-time tenure-track faculty members at its Bloomsburg campus at the Assistant Professor level, to begin in the fall semester of 2024.
The position involves teaching undergraduate digital forensics and cybersecurity courses for the BS degree in Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity.
Course assignments will reflect the interests and experience of the faculty member and the needs of the department, with opportunities to develop new courses in areas of interest.

The home campus for these positions is Bloomsburg with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
About the Department: The Department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity.
The Digital Forensics program has been designated a program of excellence by the University and a Center for Academic Excellence by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
The department also offers undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and in Computer Science.
The department currently includes 33 full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members.
There are three full-time tenured Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity faculty members and about 250 majors.
About the College: Mathematics, Computer Science, and Digital Forensics is one of four departments in the College of Science and Technology at the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania.
The College offers nationally accredited and regionally distinct programs.

Duties Duties include advisement of department majors, committee work, and departmental, college, and university service.
Continued professional growth through research and other scholarly activities is expected and supported.
The successful candidate will need to complete distance education training programs as made available by the University within two years of hire for the purpose of teaching in a multi-campus environment with remote teaching needs.
Qualifying Experience and Education (Minimum/Preferred) Minimum Qualifications Master’s Degree in a related discipline plus ten semester hours of graduate credit AND at least four years of teaching experience.
OR Doctoral Degree in a related discipline by the start of the Fall 2024 semester.
Successful applicants will be able to teach a range of Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity courses and have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, evidence of scholarly activity, and an ability to work with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to applicants with strong backgrounds in digital forensics and cybersecurity.
An earned doctorate, or progress toward a doctorate, in a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
Tenure must be applied for within five years, and will require a completed doctorate along with evidence of effective teaching, continuous scholarly activity, and service.
