Perform general housekeeping duties and duties as a custodian.

Qualifications:
Education:
-High School diploma or equivalent.

-Experience as a custodian.

Responsibilities:
-Dispose of trash.

-Sweep, dust mop, and wet mop areas.
(Essential)
-Vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas.
(Essential)
-Clean fountains, ashtrays, and blackboards.
(Essential)
-Dust and/or wash areas requiring same.
(Essential)
-Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
(Essential)
-Wash windows and door glass.
(Essential)
-Strip and refinish floors and maintain all types of floor surfaces.

-Sweep stairs and stairwells and wash same.
(Essential)
-Remove ice and snow from stairs, entrances, and walks.

-Wash walls, window ledges, woodwork, furnishings; remove graffiti.

-Replace light bulbs and tubes; clean light fixtures.

-Submit supply and repair requisitions to Supervisor.

-Keep housekeeping equipment clean and perform minor repairs on same.

-May direct activities of work study students.

-When leaving buildings, responsible for seeing that buildings are properly secured.

-Set up areas for special events as requested.

-Function as an attendant at special College events.

-Substitute for other custodians during illness or vacation as requested by Supervisor.

Physical Standards:
-Exposure to dust and harsh chemicals in performing duties.
-Lifting of 65 lbs.
maximum, without assistance, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.
-May require climbing or working off of ladders and scaffolding.
-May require travel between buildings during shift.
Special Job Features:
-Work hours are determined by the College and are subject to change.
-Academic year and summer hours are established to meet the needs of the department and the College.
-May be required to work during delays and snow closure days that may fall on scheduled workdays.
-Will be required to work overtime on short notice to include evenings, weekends, special events and call ins at the discretion of the appropriate supervisor.
-May be required to work in different buildings/locations to accommodate needs of work unit.
-Background check will be required on selected candidate.
Pay Transparency: $15.
